Atisha KMC holds regular classes in local towns (see below) consisting of teachings and guided meditations. We also occasionally hold taster classes in other towns – sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media for updates.
These introductory classes begin with a simple guided meditation to reduce stress, tension and distractions. This is followed by a short teaching on how to apply Buddhist principles to daily life, followed by a second meditation and an opportunity to ask questions and discuss with others.
You don’t need any previous experience to attend these classes.
Cost: £7 per class or four classes for £21. These classes are free for Monthly Members. See here for details of becoming a Monthly Member
No need to book – just come along to any class at any time in the term.
Come and feel uplifted not just by the class but also by the company.
How to Grow When Times Are Hard
Discover six practices to improve your ability to cope with difficulty, live a happier life, and grow as
a person. Essential methods in these challenging times.
Week 1: How to Find Your Inner Wealth
The more we train ourselves to love, developing the wish to give happiness to others, the more our
mind is healed of the pain that arises from fixating on our own troubles and frustrated desires, and
we discover the source of inner freedom and joy within our heart.
Week 2: How to Make Good Choices
We all want to be a better person – to leave behind our faults and to improve ourself. Learn how to
make better choices, be more disciplined to overcome bad habits, increase self-esteem and
confidence and become someone you can be really proud of.
Week 3: How to Stay Afloat in the Storm
In difficult times like these, we all need a way to stay afloat and not go under. Patience is an inner
strength that enables us to deal with, accept and grow from whatever life throws at us, so that we
can happily change what can be changed and accept the things that can’t.
Week 4: How to Keep Going
Faced with difficulties, it’s very easy to get discouraged and to give up. But if we learn how to
empower our mind with joyous effort, we can keep going through both the good times and the bad.
With effort – a light and joyful approach – we can accomplish anything.
Week 5: How to Control Your Mind
If we train our mind to become peaceful we will be happy all the time, even in the most adverse
conditions. But if our mind is not peaceful, even if we have the most pleasant external conditions
we will not be happy. Therefore it is important to train our mind through meditation!
Week 6: How to Find Inner Peace
The way to find the supreme inner peace and happiness of enlightenment is through wisdom –
realising the ways things really are. When we develop this wisdom, we will finally find the freedom
and joy we’ve always yearned for, and be able to help others find it too.
