Meditations to make our life happy and meaningful (Facebook Post) (1)

These classes are suitable for all levels of experience. Most people meditate sitting on chairs but cushions are also available if you prefer to sit on the floor. There is no need to book – everyone is welcome to drop in to any class on any date. Come and feel uplifted not just by the class but also by the company and the beautiful meditation room. Get in touch if you have any questions at all.

These introductory classes begin with a simple guided meditation to reduce stress, tension and distractions. This is followed by a short teaching on how to apply Buddhist principles to daily life, followed by a second meditation and an opportunity to ask questions and discuss with others.

After the class you are welcome to stay for refreshments and informal discussion.

You don’t need any previous experience to attend these classes. Also, you don’t need to pre-register. All you need to do is choose a class and come along!

Weekly classes based on the book The New Meditation Handbook by Kadampa Buddhist Teacher, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso; a practical and inspiring guide to Buddhist meditation.

  • How to discover the inner peace of meditation
  • How to apply meditation in daily life
  • How we can make our life happy and meaningful

The New Meditation handbook is a practical guide to meditation that teaches us how to make ourself and others happy by developing inner peace, and in this way making our lives more meaningful.

Without inner peace there is no real happiness. Problems, suffering and unhappiness do not exist outside the mind; they are feelings and thus part of the mind. Therefore, it is only by controlling our mind that we can permanently stop our problems and make ourself and others truly happy.

The twenty-one Buddhist meditation practices presented in this book are actual methods to control our mind and experience lasting inner peace. This extremely practical guide is an indispensable handbook for those seeking happiness and meaning in their lives.

Cost: £7 per class or four classes for £21. These classes are free for Monthly Members, who can attend in person or via live-stream. See here for details of becoming a Monthly Member

No need to book – just come along to any class at any time in the term.
