Prayers for World Peace – public service

Thursdays 5:30-6:05pm

Free of charge – donations are always welcome.

In these degenerate times it’s more important than ever for people to gather together to pray for peace. The positive power of group prayers is so much more effective than doing them on our own.

Prayers for World Peace is a practice introduced by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche to give members of the public an opportunity to visit the centre and join in prayers and silent meditation for world peace once a week.

Recently, encouraged by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, a new recording of the prayers was made and is proving very popular.

You can download the prayers and also listen to a sample here.

This public service Prayers for World Peace has the following format:

  • 3-5 minutes of breathing meditation to settle in and clear our mind
  • Liberating Prayer
  • A 5-10 minute talk or reading
  • We then recite the prayers while concentrating on their meaning.’
  • Towards the end we remain in silence for 5 minutes for our own personal meditation or silent prayer.
  • The session ends with some concluding prayers.
