Silver-Gilt Award, Northumbria in Bloom 2018 Winners!

Many people comment on the garden area to the side of our Meditation Centre. Originally an abandoned strip of land it was heavily overgrown and neglected. Many volunteers have worked hard to transform this into a lovely green space for Darlington.

There are three parts to the garden.
There’s the area under the trees, with the bird box village, the bird bath, spiral, fairy house doors, bird feeders, butterfly homes, hopscotch and more. Many of the bird boxes were painted by children at the many children events we run.
In the middle there’s the flower area. The flower beds are actually in the design of a traditional symbolism in Buddhism representing a pure world, with four lands around the outside and a five tiered temple in the centre.
If you would like to donate any flowers you are welcome to. Just give us a call, 01325 365265.
At the far end the vegetable garden has all sorts in it. When the vegetables are ready, you are welcome to help yourself.

Atisha rooftopWe also have a delightful rooftop garden. There’s little fairy gardens there, a mini Eden project under a geodesic dome, a little herb area and maybe at night you can see the subtle multi-coloured glowing orbs! You can even take your food and drinks from the cafe and enjoy them up there.

If you would like to help out in the garden you are very welcome,
if you have any ideas of things you would like to see in the garden just let us know
and if you would like to make a donation it is much appreciated.

Atisha KMC is dedicated to providing the community of Darlington with a warm and friendly and beautiful atmosphere.
When life can be complicated and so busy we aim to provide an oasis of peace.

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy.

All support is gratefully received.
