Meditation has become widely recognised as a simple but very effective method to calm the mind, let go of stress and give rise to an experience of inner peace and wellbeing. Especially suitable for beginners, this course will introduce meditation techniques that can be practised by anyone. 

Drawing on expert advice from Buddha, Gen Chogma will reveal methods for how to begin and then maintain an effective meditation practice.  The benefits of meditation and its power to overcome stress, be happy, stay focused and enjoy harmonious relationships will be clearly presented. At the end of the course you can choose one of the guided meditations to focus on and train in at home to continue to experience these benefits for yourself.

The Power of Prayer

How to use Buddhist prayers for contemplation, peace & protection

We see so many problems in the world nowadays, with people experiencing great difficulties. We often wonder what we as Buddhists should do to help with these problems? Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s advice is that our job is to pray, as this is the best method to benefit others.

In this course we will learn the nature of prayer, how to make our prayers powerful and effective, and how to unite prayer with our busy daily life. We will discover how, through prayer, we can create pathways in our mind for positive change.

Dealing With Loss and Change

Losing the people and things that we love and dealing with unwanted changes in our lives is an experience that we often find deeply painful. Although we long to find lasting pleasure, comfort and security in other people and things, in the end none of them can stay with us forever.

In this course we will learn how, through meditation, we can develop a special wisdom that will help us to heal from the inevitable winds of change and loss in our lives and come to a deep and peaceful acceptance of impermanence. Through this we can become a strong, wise and peaceful person for the benefit of ourselves and others.
