February 7th, (Not on 14th – half-term) 21st, 28th
March 7th, 14th (Special children’s class – Mother’s Day), 21st, 28th
These drop in classes are taught by British Buddhist nun and qualified Kadampa Teacher, Kelsang Droljang. Each class consists of two guided meditations, a talk and discussion. The talk covers the particular topic for the class. Through guided meditation we gain a deeper personal experience of that topic. This will help us to be more positive and peaceful in our daily lives. Everyone is welcome and can join at any time.
Cost £2 per class
These are ideal classes for those with children, because adults can attend this class – while the children enjoy the Children’s Meditation Class which runs at the same time.
These are all drop-in classes, there is no need to book.
The classes this term are following the text Advice from Atisha’s Heart translated by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso available at www.tharpa.com or you can purchase a copy on the night.
Everyone is welcome!
What to expect in a class
Classes begin with a simple guided meditation to reduce stress, tension, and distractions. This is followed by a teaching comprising an explanation of particular Buddhist principles and how to apply them to daily life. This is followed by a second guided meditation on the particular topic covered in the class. Then there is an opportunity for small group discussion, followed by a question and answer session with the teacher.
After the class there is a chance to enjoy some refreshments and discuss more informally with the teacher and other participants. You do not need any previous experience to attend these classes.
